Has it always been sunshine and roses?
No!
Absolutely not!
It's been hard! It's been overwhelming. It's been full of tears. But pressure creates diamond and oh man you better believe we are sparkling for the glory of God!
One thing I can say is that is has never been scary. The scary is what takes people under and is very hard to recover from. We all have felt a sense of peace going through this. Yes, we are walking through fire but we will not be burnt. We feel supported, loved and cared for on so many levels.
We didn't tell many people at first because just the utterance of childhood cancer can set people into a tailspin and is a heavy burden to carry. We didn't want to inflict that on people. We wanted to carry it, because we never felt the burden or the heavy load of carrying the diagnoses, as we are not the one carrying this but God is.
The first couple people we told would text us days later saying they couldn't stop thinking about Avery and she is on their mind 24/7. They are praying for us. We truly appreciate the prayers, but we didn't want that heavy burden of even thought out on people. Thoughts can get away from us. Thoughts turn into words and like we said earlier we know words are important and powerful. We needed only positive words when we and Avery were in the thick of it. Although we are still walking through the fire, it's doesn't seem as hot now. We want to share and update people. But please keep your thoughts, words and prayers always speaking the truth.
Avery is healed and whole in Jesus name. She has life more abundant. Cancer will never return in any way, shape or form.
We love every single one of you and wanted to just say THANK YOU for praying with us. We feel the prayers. We appreciate the prayers. We know prayer is what manifested this miracle of Avery's health.
While in the hospital, Avery quickly became known for her faces (not only her contagious smile but other faces that weren't so welcoming) and for being on the go with a snack in hand. So please enjoy these not so picture perfect moments caught on camera... Avery is just emoting probably what we were all feeling at the moment!
